Every year we hold and participate in a number of fundraising events to help fund our work.
biannual charity motorcycle event
First Night Riders is an annual charity motorcycle ride, organised by Brenda and David Edelstein (of Triple E Ltd), visiting theatres across the country and raises money for The Theatrical Guild. The first ride took place in 2009 and has since covered the whole of the UK, raising over £50,000 to date. The next ride will take place in 2018. For more information about the First Night Riders, please visit their website at www.firstnightride.com.
We rely on generous public donations to help support those who work backstage and front of house in theatres across the UK.
We do not receive public subsidy and rely on generous donations to fund our work. Any donation that we receive is used solely for the people who need our support, be it as a short-term grant to save someone from losing their home, a contribution towards a training course to improve future work prospects or a block of sessions with a counsellor.
None of the money that is donated is used towards office and administrative costs.
Donations can also be sent by cheque (made payable to ‘The Theatrical Guild’) or by bank transfer (please contact the office for further details).
Leaving a gift to charity is one the most effective ways of ensuring the continuity of our work.
By remembering The Theatrical Guild in your will, you can help to secure our long-term future and ensure that there is always someone there to support those backstage and front of house staff who find themselves in times of need. Leaving a gift in this way is a positive commitment to supporting our vision and will help to ensure that our important work can continue for many years to come.
